What are the most common types of lash extensions?

There are three types of lash extensions: faux mink, silk and mink. There are different lengths and thickness of the lash extensions and are specifically chosen for your type of natural lashes. Once selected, the lashes are applied one at a time using a Minky’s formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash. However, since allergic reactions are possible, there are different types of glue based on one's sensitivity.

How long does it take to apply lash extensions?

Applying a full set of lashes takes about 1 1/2 to 2hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups recommended every 2 to 4 weeks. A half set of lashes, usually called flare or cat-eye are an economical alternative to achieve a similarly dramatic effect, applied as filler to thicken natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye for a specialized look. This can take up to an hour to an hour and a half.

Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy. It's better to start out with a half set (50 to 60 percent of your top lashes) if you aren't sure or it's your first time. It’s easier and healthier to add more than to remove lashes!

How long do lash extensions last?

They can last for as long as you want them to! Forever! Just as long as you maintain your lashes by using oil free make up remover and get fills (touch ups) every 3-4 weeks, they will last. I also recommend purchasing Minky’s Black Diamond Coating Sealant to use every other day. This sealant increases the bonding strength and protects them from moisture, oil and dust.

Natural lash cycle is 60-90 days. When one lash falls out, there is another lash growing in. Therefore, you will need to have regular fills (3-4 weeks) to keep your lashes looking beautiful.

Can you go blind?

No. Eydie Anne is trained properly to apply the adhesive and lashes in a way that is completely harmless. Your eyes are closed the entire time of the procedure. No matter how bad an allergic reaction may get, you will never go blind. The worse case scenario is that you need to go to the eye doctor to get specific eye drops to treat an allergic reaction.

Do I need to use mascara?

No. This is one of the biggest reasons why you are getting lash extensions. You never need to use mascara and it is highly recommended that you do not use ANY mascara on your lash extensions.

Please note for the first 12-48 hours, you should avoid getting the lashes wet for the first 24 hours following your lash extension application. Including steam, saunas and swimming pools. Also, avoid suntan beds for the initial 48 hours following your application.
